Studio habits / 3 min read
Make a little space for making.
A creative routine can be as simple as keeping one clear corner of the table.
Build a portable studio
You do not need a dedicated room. A small tray with paper, a pencil and a few colours can be enough. Keep it somewhere easy to reach so that setting up takes a minute instead of becoming a project of its own.
Choose a familiar moment
Connect a short making session to something that already happens: after breakfast, before your evening reading, or on a quiet weekend morning. A familiar cue can be more useful than an ambitious schedule.
Keep a record of experiments
Date a page or add a short note about what you tried. You can record a colour mixture, a shape you enjoyed or a question for next time. Over time, those small observations become a map of your interests.
Let some days stay small
Some sessions will produce a finished piece. Others will be a few marks on scrap paper. Both count as time spent noticing and making. Leave room for the routine to fit your life, and it will be easier to return to.
